Tiny Toez @ East Valley – Turn off the strip lighting!

At Tiny Toez @ East Valley they have taken some inspiration from “The Curiosity Approach” after reading their post about overhead lighting and it gave them some food for thought… They said that “The direction of a light source can transform a space and seriously impact the way people feel in these spaces.”

Research tells us that harsh lighting can impact mood, concentration and wellbeing. With this in mind they have decided to move away from the traditional formalised lighting and start to introduce warm lighting to bring a relaxing feel to the environments.

Here is what they have achieved so far with what they already had in and around the baby room.

What do you think of this space?

Tiny Toez @ East Staffs – Stay and Chat October 2022

In October Tiny Toez @ East Staffs held a stay and chat event for parents where they were able to discuss their child’s progress with their Key Worker.

Below is some of the lovely feedback they have received:

“Stay n Chat has been very helpful, I have learned the day-to-day activities that my child gets up to, and also the way he interacts with other children. Nursery has increased his confidence, and over the last 10 months has become more independent. He is now able to play without parents being there. He has learned numbers from 0-30 and has started to write his name, he goes to nursery in a happy mood as he enjoys his time there.”

“My child’s key person is a very kind person. I am very happy with her progression in pre-school, and I am working hard on her as well. We love this pre-school and all the staff, her key person is very nice with her, so lovely, she has got empathy and compassion, patience and resilience. Thank you for everything, I am happy.”

“It was very helpful to understand my child’s daily activities, great work.”

“Thank you for your hard work in supporting our son as he develops. Your patience and commitment mean a lot to our family.”

Tiny Toez @ Cannock Chase – Autumn Activities

At Tiny Toez @ Cannock the children have been busy doing lots of activities around Autumn and Halloween.Autumn is a wonderful time of year to really use nature to promote the development of children.

This in mind the children were set an Autumn challenge where they were asked to find Autumn resources around the garden, when out walking and on their way to the nursery. The children discovered lots of items and enjoyed bringing them into nursery and talking about what they had found.

The children have also been busy at nursery doing lots of Halloween activities – from painting pumpkins to making Halloween cards. It has certainly been a spooktacular time at Tiny Toez @ Cannock!!

Tiny Toez @ Biddulph – Our Autumn Walk

The Pre-school children at Tiny Toez @ Biddulph have been going out and about on little walks to see what autumn objects they can find. It has been a great learning opportunity and a chance for the children to talk about the changes in weather and what they can see. The children have loved taking little baskets and buckets with them and coming back with different coloured leaves, acorns, conkers and twigs etc.

Once they got them back to nursery, they have made a little sensory tray where they were able to explore the objects and talk about them, how they feel and what their purposes are. Why the leaves change colour and why they fall off the trees.
