Dress Code

Old is the new best

Forget the expensive dress Gran bought. Your child will be playing with sand and water, digging in the garden, painting a small masterpiece (and themselves!).

So, we ask parents and carers to dress their children in old, comfortable clothes that won’t matter if a blob of mud lands on them. We provide aprons to protect their clothes, but an enthusiastic painter will still get rather paint-spattered.

To be on the safe side, we also ask parents to bring a change of clothes, and pack your child’s wellies too, because most of our nurseries have large canopies outside, which means they can be outside enjoying the fresh air in all weathers – even if it’s raining. In the summer, please also remember a sun hat and sun cream.

Baby talk

And what about your baby? Well, they get messy too. So, don’t put them in their Sunday best, and do please provide everything baby needs, including a spare set of clothes, nappies, wet wipes, nappy cream – everything you use at home.

Don’t forget to bring in the formula (plus bottles) your baby is used to so we can make it up fresh. We’re also happy to store breast milk. Finally, please do label everything that comes with baby. We don’t want to disrupt your baby’s hard-won routine by using nappies that don’t suit.
