Karen has been recognised for her skills and dedication in the Nursery Manager category. Karen will be joined by the managing director and the operational manager at the award ceremony in London on the 23rd September where all the winners will be announced.
Angharad and all her team were visited by an Ofsted inspector on the 3rd July where a full inspection was carried out. We are now overjoyed to announce that they were graded ‘GOOD’.
The team, children and parents are all happy with the outcome as the new ‘GOOD’ is the old ‘OUTSTANDING’

The staff and children had a lovely day bringing in their favourite books in and talking about who they were dressed as.
The Month of March is full of exciting festivals for all the children to explore. We are going to be learning all about St David’s Day, St Patrick’s Day and Mother’s Day. We will also be joining in with World Book Day and Comic Relief. The children are very excited about wearing their favourite book character costume!
Throughout March we will be providing activities based on children’s interest. In our 2-3 years room the children will be involved in activities which promotes space and doctors. We will also be celebrating our families and building on our family tree. In our pre-school room the children are exploring different nursery rhymes and will be learning rhyming words. All the children will also be planting sunflower seeds as we head into Spring. We would also like to wish Donna good luck as she starts her maternity leave on the 24th March 17 and welcome Rachel to the team as well as Ed and Eloise back from their adoption/maternity leave.

Over the next month, we will be exploring the meaning of Shrove Tuesday with group discussions with our preschool children and making pancakes for the whole nursery to enjoy. We will also be celebrating Valentine’s day with a range of creative and messy activities for all the children to take part.
The children at Tamworth Tiny Toez will be celebrating Chinese New Year over the week of 23-27th January. We will be learning about their culture, creating lanterns and trying Chinese foods.
Alessandra will be back the end of January to join the team again. We have missed you and the children can’t wait to see you.
We will be celebrating Chinese New Year, the year of the Rooster! The children are looking forward to trying a variety of foods and leaning all about the festival and what it means.
We will also be planning some fun and exciting fundraising ideas for the month of February for S.A.N.D.S.

Friday 9th December the children will be performing Christmas Carols, everyone is invited along to join in and to watch your children perform the carols that they have been learning over the past few weeks. If you will be attending, please return your invitation or let you child’s key worker know so that we can ensure there is room for everyone.
Thursday 15th December we have planned a traditional Christmas lunch… We cant wait!! 🙂

Friday 25th November Matthew Uffingdell will be in the setting taking Christmas Photos, should children not be in nursery on this day they can pop into the setting anytime 10am-2pm.
The Little Toez and Pre-School room will be focusing on Maths throughout November, we will be tailoring activities to each children’s individual needs and look at fun and exciting ways to have fun with numbers, shape, space and measure.
Throughout this month the children will be practicing Christmas Carols in preparation for our “Carol Morning” in December, towards the end of the month we will send a list of carols out to all parents/carers so that they can practice these carols at home also. Parents/Carers will be invited into the setting for this festive morning with the children – Date and Time TBC
Week Commencing 21st November we will be raising awareness of road safety, we will use lots of fun resources to help children to understand the dangers of roads and traffic. We will also be sharing new car seat safety laws with our parents to ensure that every child within the setting is kept as safe as possible by ensuring they are in appropriate car seats.
During November the Moon and Star rooms will be busy starting the new challenge of the month which is Maths. They will be tailoring activities to each children’s individual needs and look at fun and exciting ways to have fun with numbers, shape, space and measure.
On the 18th November we will be raising lots of money for Children in Need on our Spotacular day, all staff and children will be wearing their spottiest outfit, pyjamas or dressing up costume, we will be baking and selling cakes alongside the children’s centre and will be going on a spotty walk with all children and staff. All parents/carers are welcome to join us and if your child does not normally attend this day, you can also join us. More details to follow.
We would also like to share our exciting news. We have won the Biddulph scarecrow competition under the school’s category. We would like to thank all the parents, carers, children and staff who have helped in the making of the scarecrows.
On Friday 18th November, it is ‘Children in Need’. We at Tiny Toez @ Nutwood Nursery are encouraging everyone, staff and children, to wear their spots. Let’s be creative with everything from spotty socks, to spotty onesies to spotty hair and faces! We are asking for a small donation of £1.00 and all the money raised will go to ‘Children in Need.’
Earlier this year Tiny Toez @ Treehouse registered with Durham University to participate in a Maths Champion Research Project. The Maths Project required data to be provided to Durham University throughout the year. With the help of the staff and children our Childcare Manager followed the research project through to the end of the trial and successfully submitted the required components of the data. As a result of this successful partnership Tiny Toez @ Treehouse will now be one of the sample settings used for the maths champion observations!
Tiny Toez @ Biddulph have taken part in the Biddulph Scarecrow competition and the children have all helped to make some Frozen themed scarecrows. The children have done a fantastic job. Can you tell who each scarecrow is?
We have had a very exciting time at nursery this autumn with a harvest collection. We are donating it all to the local church in Bridgtown Cannock, to give it out to those in need in the local community. The children have also been for a little walk around the community to see all the scarecrows that different businesses have created and put on display. The local school have also created some bright and colourful knitted bunting that is displayed all around town. A fun and rewarding community event. Well done everyone our children have really enjoyed the scarecrows.
Due to popular demand by our parents – all Tiny Toez nurseries will be offering parents and carers the option to purchase a range of children’s uniform to wear while they are at nursery (this is not compulsory)
As some of our children are preparing to go to school and parents not wanting their child’s best clothes ruined we have introduced the option to wear the Tiny Toez collection of: round necked T shirts available in Fuchsia Pink and Navy Blue, Jumpers and Hoodies – The material is 100% cotton jersey with the Tiny Toez logo embroidered on.

Children at Tiny Toez Tamworth welcomed Vets to their nursery as part of their animal themed learning. This Vet Experience followed an exciting trip to Twycross Zoo. This topic has been thoroughly enjoyed by children and staff with the children learning skills about looking after and being kind to animals.
The daynurseries.co.uk Top 10 Nursery Awards 2016 highlight the most recommended nurseries in each region of the UK. The awards are based on over 22,000 reviews received between 1st March 2014 to 1st March 2016 from parents, relatives and guardians of children who attend the nurseries.
Big Toez are exploring the topic Ourselves and all about me with a strong focus around the seven areas of learning, during January they will be recording their individual heights on the height chart located within the room and will be looking at how we grow and develop. We are now contacting families with regards to free funded places within our Big Toez room 9.00am-4.30pm
Bee active are visiting the setting twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays and it is so wonderful to see the children’s face of excitement when they arrive.
Teeny Toez are exploring their creative skills and will be popping on their aprons to celebrate Valentine’s Day by baking some yummy treats. Baby Toez will be creating melt in the mouth shortcake hearts for Valentine’s Day with a creative twists using red and pink icing, we can’t wait to get all sticky!

Wednesday 21st October 2015 our Tiny Toez children will be participating in a Tiny Toez Toddle to raise money for our outdoor area. We are aiming to walk a mile around the local area and have lots of volunteers to help out on the day. Our aim is to raise as much money as possible and have a fun time doing so. All the money will be going towards improving our outdoor areas, including a small world area, construction area and also a bigger and better mud kitchen. We have our vision board located in the main hallway for you to see our ideas and even suggest some of your own. Bright clothing at the ready and we’ll see you in Knutton, don’t forget to give us a wave if you see us!

All of the children at Tiny Toez @ Tamworth were in for a holiday treat with the creation of a Beach at Tiny Toez Tamworth. Also at the Beach Party was a Bouncy Castle and mini BBQ. Noted hankies at the ready let’s get sandcastle building………………………………………..
Tiny Toez @ Lords and Ladies had a blazing afternoon when the local Fire and Rescue Service came in to talk to them about Fire Safety.
Childcare Manager Ann dressed up as a firefighter so the children would not be frightened.
All the children loved going in the Fire Engine and looking at the helmets, torches and all of the equipment.
Children and staff have been working hard creating a wonderful farm yard to keep their lucky Sheep and Pig safe and happy!!
Glad to see both animals have settled in well – but a Cotton Wool shortage has been reported!!
We reached the finals in the prestigious Nursery World Awards. This means our nursery group is officially one of the top five nursery chains in the country, according to the expert judges who shortlisted us for the Chain of the Year Award 2014, a major award in the early years sector.
Off we went to London on Saturday 27 September for the awards dinner at the The Brewery in the very heart of the City of London. There, we met the other finalists and were wined and dined until the big announcement was made.
So, a big thank you to all our staff – and our supportive parents and carers – who have made this possible. We offer our sincere congratulations to the winner, London Early Years Foundation (LEYF), in central London. But next year, we shall be bringing the trophy back with us to the Midlands.
We have been enjoying learning about Autumn throughout the nursery. Babies have been learning new words like leaves, crunchy and stamp. Toddlers have been learning about Autumn colours and light and dark. Pre-school rooms have been to the shops to buy food and made a hamper which they have given to the church when they attended the Harvest service.
All the children and staff have been wearing Pink for cancer research last week and made cakes. We would like to thank all families who donated towards our Pink week. The pre-school room have been getting active during their weekly Fizzy Tot’s sessions, learning about the effects of exercise on their bodies whilst having fun! The children are busy making Autumn pictures, leaf printing and going on Autumn walks, listening to the sound they can hear and collecting an array of Autumn objects such as leafs, conkers, acorns. The children are going to be celebrating Halloween at the end of the month and dressing up on Friday 31st October and our pre-school room will be having a Halloween party!
